According to the back cover, How to Win Friends and Influence People has been a time-tested, rock-solid source of advice which has carried countless people up the ladder of success in their personal and business lives. Considered one of the true classics in the self-help genre, Carnegie’s book has been a best-seller since the 1920s.

I’ve always had a great interest in human relations. Ever since I was a young boy, I loved to watch people and one of the things that facinated me (and still does) is what makes one person more “likeable” than the other. Although I’ve skimmed through this book, probably ten years ago, I’m excited to open it up again and take an in-depth look.

Can you really learn how to win friends and influence people? Does this book hold nothing more than a few cheap tricks and underhanded techniques that really only “manipulate” instead of influence those around us? Or is this the bible of Let’s find out this week…
